This cultural photo tour is organized as a photography tour in Valencia, as a photography teacher my responsibility is to show you the best and most authentic of my city (once you are here) so that you learn photography in a fun way while you discover in depth the most authentic and hidden Valencia.

✔Doing phototrips with small groups allows meto teach better but also to adapt my activities in an optimal way. It is also very important to be able to review the photographs of all my students and this is possible thanks to the fact that the groups are very small.

Desde hace mucho tiempo soñaba con una sesión de fotos familiar, pero no lograba encontrar al fotógrafo adecuado. Hasta que me hablaron de Luis… y ahora entiendo por qué lo recomiendan tanto! Mi hija y yo hicimos una sesión de fotos con él en la playa al atardecer, y no tengo palabras para describir lo felices que estamos con el resultado. Las fotos son impresionantes ! Luis no solo es un profesional increíble, sino también una persona maravillosa, cercana y con un don para hacerte sentir cómoda desde el primer momento. Nos reímos, nos relajamos y disfrutamos… y eso se nota en cada foto! Gracias de corazón, Luis. A partir de ahora, no hay duda de que eres nuestro fotógrafo de confianza! Bottom line: Luis is a brilliant teacher, and I learned so much from him in one day (doing both the architecture and landscape tour). It's fundamentally changed my approach to photography. Sehr professionelles und individuelles Phototraining. Luis hat in 3 Stunden sehr viel photographisches Wissen vermittelt und sich dabei perfekt auf unseren Kenntnisstand eingestellt. Abgesehen von vielen Techniken mit dem Fokus auf Streetfotographie waren wir von seiner individuellen und freundlichen Art sehr begeistert. Moltes gràcies Luis!

Thank you very much, Rulf. It was a pleasure being with you. Teaching these photo workshops is a pleasure because travel photographers are generally open and eager to learn. You could see that in Valencia, it's relatively easy to take photographs of people on the street; it's not like in other countries further north. Thanks to our Mediterranean nature, we're more willing to interact with people, even unknown photographers. LOL

Enjoyed this photo tour with Louis in Valencia. He was informative and fun to learn from and I picked some great tips and came back with some nice photos. We focused on architecture and a little street and portrait photography. If he sees something that is worth the shot he will show how to compose the scene and speak with the local people to have a portrait. It was a great learning experience and I look forward to going on another tour when next in Valencia.

Thanks, James. Sorry for the delay in responding to your review. I remember clearly that you enjoyed the photographs taken beyond the clichés. The City of Sciences is a great place to do this photography workshop in Valencia, but it also has its pitfalls. If you only take the most common panoramic photographs, you won't have improved your level. I think you were able to find a different perspective, and I'm glad for that. Hugs, and I hope you're happy with the photos after retouching them at home.

What a wonderful morning! Walking the streets of Valencia Old Town with Luis as my guide was both inspirational and educational. Luis helped me 'think' more about my photography and how to translate those thoughts into images that serve as the perfect memento of my few days in Valencia. Traducir mis pensamientos como fotógrafo profesional es una de mis técnicas educativas para que veais como funciona el cerebro de un fotógrafo, son muchos detalles para finalmente obtener buenas fotografias. I loved the photo-tour with Louis Alarcon in the area Arts and science Valencia. Het knows a lot about photography and composition. That is what I hoped for when I booked the tour! The really good thing about this tour is that Louis is a great teacher and doesn't mind explaining over and over. That combined with his passion for photography made the tour an amazing event. I learned a lot about composition with other viewing points than normally expected. Thanks Louis, when I am in that area again I will certainly book another tour with you.

Hello Joke. Thanks for your kind comment about my photo tours in Valencia. As you could see in architectural photography you have to be very orderly and start from a basic and balanced composition, sometimes the ideal is to start with perfect symmetries and then evolve and look for more daring and innovative compositions. You took very original pictures in the City of Sciences and that is important because the iconic photos are taken by all tourists, the obligation of the photographers is to find framing and new original points of view, just as you did. I had the pleasure to go on a photo tour with Luis in Valencia. His familiarity with the city and the people made this a very enjoyable tour. We spent 3 hours focusing on street photography. Luis chose to focus on content not travelling great distances for specific locations. This was very informative as it demonstrated his approach to engaging and photographing people in the city environment. Luis shared a number of techniques with regards to approach, content and of course composition. While Luis shared many tips and approaches his focus on “background” was especially helpful for me. A very pleasant and informative morning of photography.

It was an interesting morning on street photography.As you could see we professional photographers have a lot of fun taking pictures on the street, we work with semi-automatic programs on the camera, we all have a lot of fun taking pictures on the street. Also, if you are daring and get very close to people, they understand that you are a professional and that this is the right way to do it, so they allow you to be very close to them. I participated in two photography workshops with Luis. One was on street photography and the other on architectural. Luis had prepared specific exercises to explain composition, exposure and most especially light. In each case he explained the topic, then we practiced the theory and finally he gave feedback on photos taken. Luis really encouraged composing unique photographs. I learned a lot and will engage Luis for future photo workshops when I visit Valencia.

Hello Gerard. Thank you for your kind comment, the truth is that we had a good day, also we were lucky to work on a sunny day in our regional holiday "las fallas". As you saw in Valencia it's easy to get close to people but don't forget to compose well because a close up photo of a person is not enough to be a good photo. Luis is able to communicate his ideas at any technical level according to your needs. Although my spanish vocabulary is quite limited he always kept explaining with patience, using words I could unterstand. So just in a few occasions we needed to switch to English. Therefore I was both enhancing my experience in photography while learning a lot of interesting things about Valencia, and at the same time I was practising Spanish.

I went to Valencia for a day street photography with Luis. It was my first time experiencing a photography workshop and I’m grateful to have done that with someone so professional and experienced. He is very passionate with what he does and it was great to walk around with someone who knew the city very well and could give feedback right away on some photographs I took. Learning photography is like learning a new language, as he said, and it was an amazing way to do so. At the end of the first three hours he gave me the option to choose whether to keep going with street photography or take photos of the architecture at the ciudad de las Artes y Ciencias which was also good variation.

I had two sessions covering street photography, night and minimalism with Luis during November 2021. We had discussion around my learning needs and what I would have wanted to cover. However, he covered much more and answered all my questions. He also looked at my Instagram and worked on my weak points. Luis is passionate, patient and professional. His knowledge is amazing and his attitude to teaching is brilliant. If I go again to Spain, I definitely would have more sessions with him. He also has other programme which I would book them in the future.
